A Much Needed Day in the Kitchen! Plus a fan trick to stay cool!

It was a scorcher today - at least by our cold blooded New England standards. As the mercury hit 90, we arrived at out kitchen ready to go. The trick to not melting like an ice cube in a boiling pot? Something I like to call "Fan Strategery"!
Regardless of the weather, we were ready to make our new Item, Fresh Dill Biscuits .
We are working hard, even on the days were we have no orders to fill. Our idea is that we should use that time to further develop the products we already have, and to create, like today, new ones! It just feels right. The easy thing to do would be to become discouraged with a slow week on the order front. So, what we are trying to do now, is to take those weeks, and look at them as a gift... a chance to take extra time and build and upgrade where we can.
Quickly learning that a positive attitude is almost more important than anything else!

A little more...

It's about time.

This is the thought that has been running through my head lately! In my entire adult work life, I have been working for someone else's bottom line. After harboring ideas of breaking out on my own for years, turning 35 has lit the fire under me needed to make major things happen.
So here I am. I am 35, and I am starting a business with my best friend, Terry! We are both renaissance women: artists, musicians, writers, bakers, who have decided to take all of the things we love to do, and try and find a way to present them to the world.

It was while on this path, that are business was born. We are Crescent Moon Bakers. At the moment, we have an online Etsy bakery. We are working hard to bring Crescent Moon to life in the real world - to create a kind of Edible Art Gallery - a cafe style bakery where you can come either buy some sweets, or take a workshop and learn how to make them. Where you can admire the art on the walls, or, in the evenings, sit in on a groups lesson and learn how to do it yourself - how to find the artist in you!

Welcome

Hello There!!

Welcome to our little spot! We are Terry and Amy, Crescent Moon Bakers!

Over the next year or more, we will be posting here, our victories, and our defeats encountered during the start of our )hopefully) successful business. Follow us. Learn from us, and let us learn from you. If at the end of it all, we are booming, then what a wonderful collection of posts this will be! A guide to how to do it right! And, if we fail.. then you will be able to see what NOT to do!!
More to come about us later!

Have a great 4th!

-Amy
